Melrose CPR is bonded and insured and now offers notary services both in our office and around Dallas-Fort Worth! We primarily serve Burleson, Arlington, Crowley, Fort Worth, Everman, and Mansfield! At some point every one needs a notary, and we're here to help!
The primary role is to oversee the signing of important paperwork and legal documents, and to ensure that people that signed are who they say they are, and that they have signed where they are supposed to, when they are supposed to, on their own will. The notary public is appointed by the state as an impartial witness to ensure anti-fraudulent activity.
This is the official fraud-deterrent process that assures the parties of a transaction that a document is authentic, and can be trusted. The process includes:
- vetting
- certifying
- record-keeping
Most documents needing notarization fall into 3 categories: financial, business, and legal.
Person declares, or acknowledges, the signing of a document is voluntary and is for the stated purposes and conditions listed in the document. Notary verifies identity of the signer and an oath is not needed.
How it Works:
Person/signer must appear in person, with valid ID, and document may either be signed prior to arrival, or while in Notary's presence.
Examples include documents related to:
Child adoption, guardianship declaration, citizenship, estate documents (i.e. wills, Power of Attorney transfers) and more.
Person swears to the truthfulness of the contents of a document under oath to the Notary Public officer, after which the oath is affirmed.
How it Works:
Person must appear in person, with valid ID, and sign document in Notary's presence after oath has been administered.
Examples include documents related to legal proceedings (i.e. depositions and affidavits).
This ensures a copy of a non-recordable document is the exact, unaltered copy.
How it Works:
Custodian of original document provides the document to be copied. Once Notary copies it, custodian confirms the copy is identical to the original document. Notary then attaches notarial certificate stating the copy is true, accurate, and complete.
NOTE: Texas notaries cannot provide copies of documents that are recordable with a government entity (i.e. birth certificate, marriage license), but can copy and certify others, like letters, agreements, wills, etc.
